From Cupid’s Desk: Just a few Valentine’s Day ideas to get your date on with your crush

February 5, 2016

Sorry I’ve been gone so long but I’m back just in time for Valentine’s day!

Sometimes it could be really hard to figure out what to do for Valentine’s day, considering that you’re not trying to do the same ol’ thing. A movie is nice but there’s plenty of other options that you can pick that are much more entertaining than that! Howeverrrrr, if you can’t think of any ideas, I gotchu.

picnicA PICNIC ON THE BEACH or at the park. It’s different than your average setting at a restaurant and it’s cheaper too! You can even go at night, and stargaze. (How corny is that? I love it.)

SLIDE INTO A DRIVE-IN movie theater. Quit going to your basic local movie theater and try something different and totally retro and go to a drive-in. Yes, they still exist and it’s the coolest thing ever. There’s something homey and even romantic about the intimate setting of a car interior at a vast public event. I’ve been going recently and going to the movie theater will never be the same!

ALL IS FAIR in love. If your city/town is having one, go to your local fair. You can ride roller coasters and play arcade games and feel like a little kid again. It’s definitely a date that you don’t have to try too hard on, which is always a bonus.

SEE IT LIKE A TOURIST. Probably the cutest thing you could do is go to the beach or the city and act like tourists. Use a map to get to places you’ve been to a million times and discover new places you’ve never been before. Take the bus or the rail. You’ll be surprised at how hard you’ll laugh and you’ll make so many cute memories and inside jokes. ghost

GET YOUR LEARN ON and take a class together! Take some lessons from the actors in the movie Ghost and take a class with your date on Valentine’s day. I’m sure a billion places are open where you can get artsy with painting, pottery, cooking, etc. These dates are good if you’re into getting messy and physical. 😉

VISIT YOUR LOCAL FLEA market or farmer’s market. My favorite idea though is picking fruits at a local farm. There are so many options to pick from like strawberries, apples, oranges, etc. It’s a really sweet way to spend your time together. If you’re in one of those unfortunate climate regions where farmer’s markets don’t about in February, go build a snowman or sled down a hill at the park. The cold makes you want to snuggle.

Those are just a few ideas, perhaps they helped you come up with a few of your own. Feel free to share in the comments. And if not, at least you have some viable plans to choose from.

I hope you have the most fabulous Valentine’s day filled with lots of love and chocolate!

Xoxo, Cecilia
